The story of Oakville Crossing is rooted in a chance encounter that became a defining moment. It began when one of the partners, a veteran Napa vineyard manager, found himself with a flat tire on the famed Oakville Cross Road. Eventually, our other owner, a retired winery consultant in the valley, happened upon the scene and stopped to offer assistance.

While waiting for roadside service, the two men realized they were directly across from a winery they both deeply respected. Over an impromptu tasting, their conversation moved swiftly beyond the inconvenience of the breakdown. They discovered a profound mutual respect, extensive common contacts within the valley, and a shared, uncompromising vision for ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon.

The synergy reached its peak when one mentioned his recent acquisition of access to a limited parcel of exceptional "blue-chip" Oakville fruit. Recognizing the rarity and potential of the resource, they both seized the opportunity. With a shared glance, the two professionals—one with unparalleled vineyard access, the other with masterful winemaking skill—agreed to forge a partnership on the spot and, in tribute to their meeting place, named their new venture Oakville Crossing.

Leveraging their combined reputation and decades of experience, they launched their first wine, the Oakville Crossing Cabernet. The immediate critical validation followed with their flagship wine, the Oakville Crossing Reserve, scoring a remarkable 94 points from Decanter. This launch cemented Oakville Crossing as one of the most exciting and talked-about limited releases in the Napa Valley.
